Why
Contribute?
We’re organized and here to support you. Each lesson is broken into 2 parts, around 30 minutes in length each. We’ll work with you to make sure your content meets our standard: foundational, focused, and practical. You’ll also collaborate with us to create simple, supportive materials that accompany your videos.

We will take you through the filming process and then we will handle all of the editing and putting of everything together.

To keep the program cohesive, all content must align with TVR’s structure and be reviewed by our team before filming.

Our goal is to take your expertise and shape it into the essential knowledge every new therapist needs to hit the ground running.

Being a guest presenter with The Virtual Residency is more than just a one-time teaching opportunity, it’s a chance to shape the future of therapy while growing your own professional impact. Here’s what you’ll gain by contributing:

-
Competitive Presentation Rates
We value your time and expertise. Our presentation rates are designed to fairly compensate you for the work that goes into preparing and delivering a high-quality training module. -
Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert
Your contribution positions you as a go-to voice in your area of expertise. It’s a powerful way to build credibility and be seen as a leader in the mental health field—by both residents and peers. -
Featured Exposure within TVR Platform
Your name, credentials, and topic will be showcased on our platform alongside your module. That means consistent visibility to hundreds of early-career therapists engaging with your material over time. -
Network with Like-Minded Professionals
TVR brings together passionate, grounded clinicians who believe in collaboration over competition. As a presenter, you’ll become part of this growing community. Connecting with other guest experts, supervisors, and clinicians across specialties. -
Contribute to the Future of the Field
Residents are shaping the future of therapy, and your voice can help guide them. This is your chance to pass on what you’ve learned, simplify what you wish someone had taught you, and give new therapists the foundation they truly need to thrive.

How does this work?

The Contribution Process
What to Expect
01
The Interview and Introduction
You’ll attend a virtual meeting with Kristen to discuss your interest in contributing to the TVR. This conversation is part interview, part collaboration. The focus will be that the partnership feels aligned and that your expertise fits the program’s goals. From there, we’ll agree on a module topic and begin shaping the content together. We’ll also set a filming date and confirm the location.
After this discussion, you'll get an offer via e-mail and contracts for signing. Everything is upfront, transparent, and makes sense,
03
Filming Day
You’ll film your final presentation — but don’t worry, you’ll know exactly how to do it by the time filming day arrives. Because your script is outlined and organized in advance, the filming process is quick and straightforward. You only need to look polished once — after that, we’ll handle the rest behind the scenes.

02
Project Collaboration
Shortly before filming, we’ll meet again virtually to finalize your module. This is a collaborative working session where we’ll review your outlined presentation and shape it to align with the current flow of the TVR. Together, we’ll map out the structure of your filming script and teach you how to create your presentation. Most presenters complete this in one meeting, though occasionally we’ll schedule a follow-up to fine-tune things.
Presenters must have access to film in 4K video quality (most recent smartphones like iPhones and Samsung models support this).
04
The Editing Process
Our team will edit the footage to ensure everything flows smoothly, and only the best takes make it into the final cut. Once your module is polished and ready, we’ll handle the launch and officially add it to the TVR library!

We're looking for thoughtful, experienced clinicians who are excited to share what they know in a clear and engaging way. Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. Subject Matter Expertise
You should have a deep, working knowledge of your chosen topic—whether that's from direct client experience, specialized training, lived experience, or a combination. You might be surprised by how valuable your insights are to early-career therapists. If you feel confident guiding others through one of our module topics (or pitching your own), we want to hear from you.

2. Camera & Tech Ready
This is a high-quality film project, so contributors must be willing and comfortable being on camera. We’ll support you through scripting and preparation, but you’ll need to be available for filming and open to the process of presenting on film. You'll need access to a presentation aid, like Canva. You don’t need to be a tech wizard, but some basic tech know-how is helpful, like setting up your camera, checking lighting, and uploading files. We’ll make sure you have clear instructions along the way.

3. Clarity & Communication Skills
You don’t need to be a polished speaker, but you should be able to explain your topic in a grounded, practical, and digestible way. Our goal is to meet residents at their level, so breaking down complex concepts into usable, real-world strategies is key.
4. Alignment with TVR Values
The Virtual Residency is collaborative, inclusive, and focused on building real-world competence, not just academic knowledge. We’re looking for contributors who share our vision of empowering residents and demystifying the mental health field.

5. Willingness to Collaborate
You'll be working closely with Kristen and our creative team to shape your content. We’ll help you translate your expertise into a strong presentation, but flexibility and openness to feedback are essential to making the module as impactful as possible.
